The M8047A PCI Express Re-driver enables the testing of devices with long back channels. Through a two-stage continuous-time linear equalizer and a linear output driver, equalize and boost the signal to the error detector. Easily operate with non-return-to-zero (NRZ) signals of up to 28 Gb/s. The M8047A complements the built-in equalization M8041A, M8051A, and M8046A error detectors.

The M8047A requires at least version 7.2 of the M8070B software and an M8000 BERT Series AXIe module or an M8195A, M8196A, or M8194A arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) AXIe module.

The Keysight N4962A is a cost-effective 10G BERT, consisting of an internal clock system, PRBS generator, and error detector. It is designed for automated production-line testing, manufacturing, and characterization. The N4962A instrument features highly integrated custom ASICs, which lower part count and operating temperature, resulting in high reliability. The N4962A is also compact with a simple interface, making it ideal for use on a production test bench.

The N4960A is an affordable and compact serial BERT available in 4-17 Gb/s and 5-32 Gb/s configurations. It is the perfect solution to test multiple channels from 25 to 32 Gb/s for 100 gigabit Ethernet applications and other multi-channel, high-data rate devices operating either synchronously or asynchronously. The N4960A Serial BERT consists of an N4960A clock/controller with N4951A or N4951B pattern generator and N4952A error detector remote-mountable heads. The pattern generator and error detector support PRBS or user patterns and operate up to 32 Gb/s in a single band with no gaps or missing data rates. The remote heads allow the test equipment to be located very close to the device under test, eliminating the need for long cables that degrade signal quality.

It provides repeatable calibration of the optical stressed eye, saving hours of calibration time compared to manual calibration. The N4917BACA 100G Optical Receiver Test, BERT Compliance App enables control and setting of all required instruments for calibration, receiver sensitivity, and jitter tolerance test according to IEEE 802.3-2015 clause 88 and related multi-source agreements (MSA).

The equipment configuration is based on the M8040A high-performance bit error ratio tester (BERT). It includes an arbitrary waveform generator, an optical reference transmitter, a DCA-series digital sampling oscilloscope, a tunable laser source, and an optical attenuator and is fully compatible with the N4917BSCA optical receiver stress test solution for 400G.

Alternative setup configurations are supported, and the hardware can be used for other kinds of device-compliance test such as for optical transmitters and chip-to-module interfaces.
