  • Industry standard safety rated at CATIII 600 V/CATIV 300 V

Get fast, accurate, repeatable measurements - even in noisy environments - with the DLRO2 hand-held 2 A low resistance ohmmeter.

The DLRO2 can measure low resistance values across a wide range of applications, from railways and aircraft to industry components. This tough device comes with a brand new ‘difference’ meter that allows repetitive measurements to be easily compared with an initial reference measurement. The difference meter also translates the percentage difference to a needle/pointer movement, making the changes clear to see.

If your applications require long test leads, then the DLRO2 can provide this without compromising test speed or safety. It has a dedicated long lead test to optimise the output, and this long test lead function is able to provide up to 1 A of test current into 4 ohms resistance. The DLRO2, with its optional cable reel test leads, is therefore ideal for testing wind turbine and avionic lightning protection applications.

History of ‘Ducter’ testing
For over 100 years the ‘Ducter test’ has been used to describe a simple test for measuring very low contact resistances and “Ducter”, which is still used as a trade mark, was the name originally given to the low resistance ohmmeter manufactured by Megger. The name Ducter was registered by Megger in June 1908 and ‘Ducter’ has since become the industry standard.

MEGGER TORKEL900 Battery Discharge Test System

Overview

  • Discharge testing for full insight into battery capacity
  • Enhanced safety features including spark free connection and emergency safety fuse
  • Ability to test the battery without disconnecting it from the system
  • High discharge capacity shortens the test time
  • A complete stand-alone discharge test system

The TORKEL 900 is the fourth generation in the series of Megger's trusted battery discharge test systems.  Discharge testing is the only test method that provides a comprehensive insight into battery capacity, and is therefore an essential part of vigorous battery maintenance programmes.

Tests can be conducted at constant current, constant power, constant resistance or in accordance with a pre-selected load profile. Together with the cell voltage logger, BVM, now connected directly to the TORKEL 900, it becomes a complete stand-alone discharge test system.

The TORKEL is connected to the battery, the discharge current and the alarm levels (voltage, capacity, time) are set. After starting the discharge TORKEL keeps the current constant at the preset level. When the voltage drops to a level slightly above the final voltage, TORKEL issues an alarm. If the voltage drops so low that there is a risk for deep discharging the battery, TORKEL shuts down the test. All values are stored in TORKEL and can easily be transferred via an USB-stick to a PC for evaluation.

Testing can be carried out without disconnecting the battery from the equipment it serves. Via a DC clamp-on ammeter, TORKEL measures total battery current while regulating it at a constant level. Furthermore, the high discharge capacity of TORKEL gives the opportunity to shorten the test time. Discharging can take place at up to 220 A, and if higher current is needed, two or more TORKEL units or extra load units, TXL, can be linked together.

MEGGER Leak and corona detectors

Overview

  • Features compact long-distance directional pickup
  • Locates gas leaks and corona within inches of the source
  • Lightweight for easy use, even in remote field locations
  • Insensitive to high ambient audible noise levels

The Ultrasonic Leak and Corona Detector is a low-cost, portable system that receives air-borne ultrasonic signals, converts them to the audible range, amplifies them and displays the output visibly on a meter and audibly through a speaker or headset.

The system is designed for locating gas leaks and electrical corona sources, all of which emit strong ultrasonic signals that are inaudible to the unaided human ear. MEGGER BGFT Battery Ground Fault Tracer

Overview

  • Ground faults in ungrounded dc battery systems easily located
  • Operates in high electrical noise environment
  • Simplifies fault tracing by identifying fault characteristic (resistive and capacitive) magnitudes

The battery ground fault tracer is dual range economical, easy-to-use instrument that identifies, traces and locates ground faults in ungrounded dc systems. It is particularly effective in high electrical noise environments, as the strength of the test signal can be adjusted.

The Battery Ground Fault Tracer’s dual range provides added safety in the low range, while the high range offers the ability to locate high impedance faults.

The Battery Ground Fault Tracer accelerates fault location by eliminating trial-and-error procedures and because faults can be located without going off-line. It is particularly useful in any industry where supply of power for operating measurement, communication and control equipment is critical.
